How to Play Metal Saga: Season of Steel
Quick start
Read the opening events and speak to nearby residents before leaving town. Check personal equipment, healing supplies and the available vehicle. Try an ordinary encounter, inspect the battle result and return for repairs before taking on a wanted monster.
Controls
Use the DS stylus to direct movement and choose conversation or menu targets. In a battle, touch the protagonist’s action and then the companion’s, assigning distinct tank weapons when aboard. Select repair, equipment or skill menus through their displayed panels and read the resulting change before confirming.

Hagane no Kisetsu uses the DS stylus for exploration and command battles. Travel with a chosen companion and Pochi, search for wanted monsters and build skills suited to the next route. The party shares one active tank, with another vehicle towable for recovery or switching; crew members cannot fire the same mounted weapon in the same turn. Compare chassis slots, engine load and weapon ammunition before a long trip. Damaged parts need repairs, and characters may fight on foot when that is more useful. Begin with nearby conversations and a short outing to understand movement and commands before spending heavily on modifications.
