How to Play Metal Slug 7
Quick start
Enter Mission Mode, choose a soldier and select Normal to learn the standard weapon setup. Mission 1 starts at the entrance to Garbage Island. Shoot the three soldiers after landing and free the first prisoner. Advance carefully past the shield soldier and turret; fire upward above the first cannon position to reveal a hidden prisoner. Watch behind you when new soldiers arrive, and collect weapons and ammunition before moving farther into the scrap-covered base.
Controls
Default DS: D-pad moves, crouches and changes firing direction; Y fires, B jumps and A uses secondary fire, including grenades on foot. R switches stocked weapons; L+Y performs special melee on foot. Near a Slug marked IN, B boards it. Down+B exits; Down+A throws a grenade from inside. In a Slug, L launches a self-destructing frontal attack and automatically ejects the soldier. START opens pause. Auto Fire and buttons are adjustable in Options; the lower screen shows the stage map.
Metal Slug 7 — About this game
Metal Slug 7 sends six selectable soldiers through a single-player campaign of seven missions. Their individual strengths give the same encounters different approaches, while collected weapons and limited ammunition encourage you to choose when to swap equipment. Rescue prisoners for supplies and scoring opportunities, then use Slug vehicles to bring heavier firepower into the fight. The lower DS screen provides a stage map rather than replacing the button-based combat with touch aiming. Beyond clearing the campaign, Combat School offers focused objectives that reward learning the stages. Enemies, machinery and terrain crowd the route, making controlled movement and deciding when to spend grenades as important as constant firing.
