How to Play Bases Loaded 3

Quick start

Choose the one-player option with left/right and confirm with START or A. Select your team, the computer team and a stadium, then confirm READY with A after arranging the lineup. Practise A swings and lining up your fielders with the ball. Up represents home, Left first, Down second and Right third. Throw promptly with the destination direction+A after a catch. This Japanese version uses B for bunting, not SELECT.

Controls

Batting: left/right moves the hitter; hold A to swing, with Up/Down+A for high/low swings. B enters the bunt stance; press B again to cancel. Running: destination direction+B advances or steals; return direction+A retreats; hold A+B to stop. Bases: Up=home, Left=first, Down=second, Right=third. Pitching: choose location with the D-pad and press A; tap A during the windup to increase the selected location's effect. Fielding: move into the ball's path; B leaps, direction+B dives. With the ball, direction+A throws and direction+B runs toward a base. B before a pitch opens the field view for a pickoff, followed by direction+A. START calls time; A while time is called opens substitutions. SELECT is unused.

Bases Loaded 3 — About this game

This baseball game replaces the long pennant chase with a challenge built around the quality of each victory. A game against the computer begins with a rating of 100, then mistakes reduce the score while strong plays can help recover points. The result determines the level of the next opponent, with the ultimate aim of beating a Level 5 team while earning a perfect rating. That makes an accurate throw or a well-timed diving catch matter beyond the scoreboard. The fielding view looks in from center field, so home plate is at the top and first base is on the left; learning this reversed layout is essential before directing runners or throws. You can also play another person, watch computer teams, alter the editable team and choose among three parks. Batting timing, quick releases after catches and sensible pitching changes all contribute to a better performance.
