How to Play Hoops
Quick start
Press START, then choose the player count, one-on-one or two-on-two, and your players using the D-pad and A. Set a short target score. In the opening possession shoot-out, press B as the arrow reaches the basket. During play, press B to jump and B again in mid-air to shoot; use A to pass in two-on-two.
Controls
D-pad: move/select. A: confirm; pass on offence, defensive stance on defence. B: jump, then shoot when airborne; block when the opponent shoots. Near the basket, a shot can become a dunk. Menu selection uses A.
Hoops — About this game
Hoops focuses on a single basket and the strengths of individual players. Choose a partnership that balances shooting, passing and movement, then play to an agreed score rather than a clock. Every basket counts for one point. Winners-Out lets the scoring side keep attacking; Losers-Out hands possession to the other side. Two players can oppose each other or share a team. Successful two-on-two games against the computer provide passwords for a longer tournament challenge. A well-timed jump shot or pass matters more than repeatedly charging into defenders.
