How to Play Monopoly
Quick start
Press START and set up two to eight players, assigning each seat to a human or computer. Use the Control Pad and A to choose names, opponents and tokens. For a first game, choose the untimed option with A and take the normal start instead of the editor. Roll with A on your turn. When you reach unowned property, A buys it and B sends it to auction. Open the management menu with SELECT for trades, mortgages and building decisions. Aim for a complete color group without spending the cash you may need for your next rent bill.
Controls
Control Pad: select menu entries, letters, numbers and tokens. START: begin setup. A: roll the dice, confirm selections and buy unowned property. B: put unowned property up for auction. SELECT: open the command menu for actions such as trading and mortgaging.
Monopoly — About this game
Buying property is only the opening move in this German NES adaptation of Monopoly. Completing a color group lets you develop its streets with houses and eventually hotels, turning an ordinary stop into a much more expensive visit for another player. Auctions give unwanted properties another route into circulation, while trading can unlock a set that would otherwise remain divided between opponents. Cash still matters: a strong portfolio will not pay an immediate bill unless you can raise the money. Computer-managed banking keeps rents and payments moving, with menus for construction, mortgages and offers. Human and computer players can share a game, and the setup includes timed play and an editor for changing the starting position.
