How to Play Monster Party
Quick start
Use SELECT to choose START on the title screen, then press START. A advances the introduction; START skips it. Walk right to the first door and press Up. Against the plant, time B swings to send its bubbles back. Visit the other boss rooms before looking for the stage exit key. Pick up capsules for a temporary transformation and hearts for health. Write down the password after finishing the round.
Controls
Left/Right: move. Down: lie down; Down+Left/Right: crawl. Up: enter a room. A: jump; while transformed, press repeatedly to fly. B: swing Mark's bat, or fire Bert's laser when transformed. START: start, pause or resume. SELECT: choose START/CONTINUE at the title. For a password, choose letters with the D-pad and A, then select END and press A.
Monster Party — About this game
Monster Party sends a baseball-playing boy into a world where grinning scenery gives way to grotesque creatures and odd conversations. Rather than simply reaching the far end of a stage, Mark must investigate rooms and resolve their boss encounters to obtain the exit key. His bat works at close range and can knock enemy projectiles back, making timing more useful than blindly rushing forward. Capsules temporarily change him into Bert, who shoots lasers and can fly with repeated jumps. The first round sets the tone with a bubble-spitting plant, a surprisingly inactive giant spider and an energetic pumpkin ghost. Hearts restore health, and completing a round provides a password for returning later.
