How to Play Monsters vs. Aliens
Quick start
Choose New Game and read the current character's instructions. Learn movement, jumping and the character's attack before rushing past an obstacle. Use touch prompts for strength, shape-changing or puzzle pieces as they appear. After unlocking Cockroach puzzles, tap his head in the main menu to practise them again.
Controls
The Control Pad moves the active monster. Ginormica uses B to jump, A to dash and Y to attack; skating uses X to jump and B to crouch. Link uses B jump, Y attack and X or microphone spit. B.O.B. uses B jump, A for background walls/grates and Y swallow/spit; draw shapes on the touch screen. Insectosaurus uses X silk and A roar. Cockroach puzzles use dragging and taps to move/rotate pieces and launch the ball.
Monsters vs. Aliens — About this game
Susan's transformation into Ginormica brings her into a secret monster team facing an alien threat. The DS game builds challenges around their different abilities. Ginormica combines strength tasks with running and skating; the Missing Link fights and spits, B.O.B. squeezes through grates and changes shape, and Insectosaurus uses silk shots. Dr. Cockroach's puzzles ask you to move and rotate pieces before launching a plasma ball. Touch actions are part of solving the route, so check which monster is active rather than applying one control scheme everywhere. Completed or unlocked Cockroach puzzles can also be revisited from the main menu. Progress saves after each level sequence.
