How to Play Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits
Quick start
Press START or A at the title, enter your name, then select 1P Driller and Mission Driller. Choose Susumu and an available beginner stage. Drill towards the goal, collect air capsules before the gauge empties and step aside when unsupported blocks begin to fall.
Controls
Use the Control Pad to move and face a block; A, B or Y drills. Hold towards a ledge to climb where the character can reach. A/Y confirms menus and B cancels. X fires a fireball in Pressure Driller; START pauses. Touch control is also available for movement and drilling.

Dig down through a shifting field of colored blocks while watching your air supply. Groups of four or more connected blocks of the same color disappear, opening routes but also leaving dangerous rubble overhead. The USA DS edition offers Mission Driller, Pressure Driller and Time Attack Driller, plus a store that spends earned mileage on helpful items. Susumu is available at first; clearing challenges gradually opens the other drillers, whose different abilities change how you approach the descent.
