How to Play Musashi no Ken: Tadaima Shugyou Chuu

Quick start

Press START on the demo screen to go to the selection screen, select 1PLAYER GAME with SELECT and start with START. In training, A is for attacking and B is for jumping, so first check the push. Move left and right, change the posture of the bamboo sword up and down, hit obstacles, and take the items that appear. If Toichi reaches the goal first, he will fail, so think about the distribution of detours and advances. Once you enter the tournament, B will become your specialty instead of jumping. If you let go of the top and bottom, you'll be in the middle position, up to the upper position, and down to the lower position, and use A's normal attack as the basis and B's limited special attacks.

Controls

Cross button left and right: Move. Above: Set on the upper level. Bottom: Set at the bottom. When not pressing up or down: Hold in the middle position. A: Swing the sword. B: Jumps at each stage of training, special skills at tournaments and VS GAME. SELECT: Select 1PLAYER GAME/2PLAYERS VS GAME on the selection screen. START: Move from demo to select screen, start selected mode, pause/resume during play. Controller II is also used in two-player matches.

Musashi no Ken: Tadaima Shugyou Chuu — About this game

Based on Motaka Murakami's kendo manga, it depicts Rokusanji Natsuki's training and competition in a different way. The first half of the single-player game is a side-scrolling training session in which you use a bamboo sword to blow away flying enemies and obstacles, jump over holes, and aim for the goal before Toichi the dog. The items that appear when you hit an obstacle are related not only to recovery, but also to special moves that can be used in subsequent tournaments, so you won't be able to prepare just by rushing. In tournaments, he switches to one-on-one kendo, using upper, middle, and lower stances to take advantage of his opponent's openings. You can advance by winning the first two races, but be careful not to fall back too far and be taken out of the field. In a two-player match, it will be a group battle using Controllers I and II, and the focus will be on maneuvering to read the opponent's stance and distance, which is different from a solo journey through training.
