Quick start
Hear the mayor’s opening report, speak to the indicated residents and follow the current clue. Read a puzzle or pursuit’s instructions before starting it.
Controls
Use the DS movement and interaction controls shown on screen to approach people, examine locations and select dialogue. For a puzzle, manipulate its indicated pieces; during a pursuit, watch the target and follow the task’s movement instructions.

Work with an assistant to help the mayor protect a treasure from the elusive Thief V. Town conversations and investigations lead to clues, mini-games and routes into underground areas. Begin with the mayor’s report and ask residents about the local mystery before setting off after a suspect. Read the current instruction and revisit a person or location when a new clue changes the task. Puzzle activities test a specific rule, while following a suspect requires watching movement and timing. Treat each assignment as a step in the investigation rather than expecting every resident to reveal the solution immediately.
