How to Play 64 Oozumou
Quick start
Press START and choose おしえてれんしゅう, then follow the demonstrations and messages. Learn the opening stance first, then compare C-right thrusts at distance with belt contact. Return to battle mode for a short bout before starting Yokozuna Success.
Controls
Menus: stick selects, A confirms and B returns. With stick controls, move using the stick and press a C button to enter the opening stance. Apart: C-right thrusts, C-left grabs the belt, C-up/down circles. Locked together: C-right drives, C-left breaks the grip, C-up throws underarm and C-down overarm. Options also offer a D-pad layout.
64 Oozumou — About this game
64 Oozumou treats a bout as a sequence of positions rather than a single attack button. The opening stance leads to a clash, then distance and belt contact change the techniques available. Thrusting from outside is different from driving or throwing while locked together. Repeated attacks and punishment drain endurance, so watching your wrestler matters alongside choosing a move. Yokozuna Success adds development between tournaments through events and minigames, while separate battle and tournament modes offer direct competition. A guided practice mode introduces the controls before that longer career.
