How to Play All-Star Baseball 2000
Quick start
Press START, choose MLB Play and Exhibition, then select the teams with directions and A. At the pre-game screen review the settings and select Play Ball with A. Begin with contact swings and learn to place the target before tilting it. Auto fielding can handle the catch while leaving the throw to you.
Controls
Batting: stick or D-pad moves the target, A swings, tap A to check; B switches Power/Contact. Hold B plus stick to tilt the target. Pitching: C selects type, directions aim, A delivers and B pitches out. Fielding: directions move, A dives, B jumps and C throws to the matching base. L advances all runners, R returns them. START pauses.

All-Star Baseball 2000 adds another decision to aiming a swing: tilt the batting target to influence the kind of hit, rather than only lining it up with the ball. Timing still matters, and contact or power changes your approach at the plate. Off the diamond, General Manager expands roster building with multi-player trade packages, farm prospects and created players. That gives a season a different rhythm from a quick exhibition. Simulation uses individual player attributes and a smaller pitch selection; Arcade enlarges the repertoire and levels player attributes. Fielding assistance, weather and camera settings help tailor a game. Exhibitions, playoffs and Home Run Derby provide shorter alternatives when you do not want to manage a season.
