How to Play Big Mountain 2000

Quick start

Press START at the title and A to continue. Choose Championship, then select a racer. Set STYLE to Skier or Boarder, choose equipment, stage and race type, and select START with A. Begin with Free Ride to learn the descent and reach checkpoints before time runs out.

Controls

Use the stick to turn, lean and balance. A edges the skis or board for braking and grip in turns; B jumps. While airborne, combine the stick with B for trick jumps. Stick up+A stops. In menus, stick up/down selects an item, left/right changes it, A confirms and B goes back.

Big Mountain 2000 — About this game

Big Mountain 2000 combines downhill racing with a choice of skis or snowboard. Championship pits your racer against three computer opponents and develops the character's abilities through race results. Free Ride emphasizes speed, obstacles and route choices, with checkpoints extending the timer. Slalom demands a tighter line through flags: consecutive successful gates add time, while missed gates take it away. Giant Slalom spreads the gates farther apart for a faster descent. Equipment and riding style shape your approach, and Time Attack or a local two-player battle gives you another reason to learn each mountain.
