How to Play ClayFighter 63⅓

Quick start

Choose a fighter and begin a bout. Try B and A for quick attacks, then compare them with the C-button attacks. Learn retreating guard first; practise the forward-tap parry only after you can recognise incoming attacks.

Controls

Default: D-pad left/right moves; up jumps; down crouches; away blocks, down-away guards low. B weak punch; A weak kick; C left medium punch; C down medium kick; C up heavy punch; C right heavy kick. Tap towards just before impact to parry; down-tap parries low.

ClayFighter 63⅓ — About this game

ClayFighter 63⅓ gives each clay combatant three strengths of punches and kicks. Weak attacks arrive quickly, while heavier blows demand a better opening. Distance changes close attacks and throws, and each fighter has individual special moves. A filled super meter allows stronger super techniques. Defence includes holding away to block or tapping towards an attack just before impact to parry. Those choices make timing and spacing useful even among the ridiculous characters and exaggerated animations.
