How to Play Densha de Go! 64
Quick start
Press START at the title, select 入門モード with D-pad and A, then 学習コース for guided lessons. Follow each instruction before the lesson continues. With default two-handle controls, release the brake with R and tap D-pad down to add power when permitted to depart. Cut power and brake early as the next station approaches.
Controls
Default two-handle setup: D-pad down raises power, up lowers it; L cuts power. B increases braking, A reduces it, R releases the brake. C-up is emergency brake; the other C buttons sound the horn. START pauses. In menus D-pad selects, A confirms and B returns. One-handle controls use a different layout.
Densha de Go! 64 — About this game
Take charge of trains on Japanese routes, managing power and braking while watching speed limits, signals and the distance to the next stop. Your task is to reach passing points on time and stop at the correct position. Violations and inaccurate driving deduct from the remaining time; when it runs out, the run ends. Beginner Mode offers guided lessons that pause for each required action, plus a practice course with a generous time allowance. Arcade Mode then puts those skills into a full run, where coasting and gradual braking matter as much as acceleration.
