How to Play Diddy Kong Racing

Press START, choose a racer with A and confirm the selection. Enter Adventure, pick an empty slot and enter your initials. Practise in the central area, then look for a course door you can open. Talk to Taj by approaching and pressing Z to sound the horn.
Controls
Control Stick steers, A accelerates and B brakes. Z uses an item or sounds the horn when none is equipped. In a kart, use R for a power slide through bends. START pauses. Menus use the stick and A to choose or confirm, with B to return.
Diddy Kong Racing — About this game
Diddy Kong Racing links its races through an island you can explore between events. Golden Balloons open course doors and new areas, leading to boss races and silver-coin challenges that ask you to collect every coin while still finishing first. Karts, hovercraft and planes give different routes their own handling demands. Coloured item balloons add attacks and boosts, while the separate Tracks mode lets you focus on racing without following the adventure's progression.
