How to Play Donkey Kong 64
Quick start
Choose Adventure and an empty save slot. Explore the tree-house area, then visit Cranky and complete the opening training. Practise jumping and turning the camera before leaving. Keep track of newly learned moves and return to obstacles that require them.
Controls
Control Stick moves; A jumps, B attacks and Z crouches. C-left/right rotate the camera; C-up enters first-person view, C-down changes the outside zoom, and R centres the view. START opens pause/status screens. While running, press Z then A for a long jump; standing still, hold Z and press A for a backflip.
Donkey Kong 64 — About this game
Donkey Kong 64 sends the Kongs across large worlds to stop K. Rool's plan. Rescued characters bring their own abilities, weapons and musical instruments, opening challenges that another Kong cannot finish alone. Golden Bananas unlock progress, coloured bananas feed Troff and Scoff, and coins pay for useful upgrades. Each visit mixes platforming, hidden passages and smaller challenges, so matching the right Kong to the task is as important as finding the path.
