How to Play F1 Pole Position 64
Quick start
Press START at the title and choose BATTLE with the direction controls and A. Select the course, weather, laps, driver and rivals, then review the car settings. Choose automatic transmission for a first run and check RACE HANDLE before using the Standard Position controls below.
Controls
Standard Position: D-pad steers, A accelerates, B brakes; R shifts up and L down with manual transmission. Automatic disables shifting. C up changes the panel, C right the view and C down shows the rear camera. START pauses. Right Position uses stick steering and Z to shift down instead. Menus: direction to choose, A confirm, B back.

F1 Pole Position 64 offers a sixteen-course World Grand Prix alongside shorter Battle races and Time Trials. Battle lets you choose a circuit, weather and lap count before selecting your driver and computer rivals. Car settings provide another layer of preparation, while automatic transmission removes manual gear changes for an easier first run. Controller handling has separate layouts, so choosing one matters as much as learning the brakes. The Standard Position uses the directional pad; a different layout enables analog steering. Learn a circuit under manageable conditions, then vary the weather or enter the longer championship.
