How to Play Fox Sports College Hoops '99
Quick start
Choose Exhibition Game, select the away and home teams, then press A to reach Controller Setup. Move the controller icon beneath your chosen team and press A to start. Use A for a nearby pass; try stopping before shooting with B or Z. On defense, A selects the defender nearest the ball and C-left attempts a steal.
Controls
The stick or D-pad moves the player. On offense: A passes to the nearest teammate marked in blue; a direction plus C-down passes downcourt toward the yellow-marked target; B or Z shoots. On defense: A selects the defender nearest the ball, C-up the one nearest the basket; C-left steals; B or Z jumps to rebound or block. C-down on defense commits an intentional foul.

It also allows a direct start in the NCAA tournament or Final Four, changing how much of the road to the title you want to play. On the court, a nearby pass and a directional pass offer different ways to move possession, with cursors identifying their targets. Settling the player's feet before a shot improves the chance of scoring. On defense, selecting the player nearest the ball or the basket helps you respond to different threats.
