How to Play Hexen: Beyond Heretic
Quick start
Start a new game and choose a class and difficulty. With the Control Stick method selected, use A to attack and B to jump or operate doors and switches. Check the map with C-up and revisit the hub when a route opens.
Controls
Control Stick method: stick moves/turns; Z plus stick sideways strafes; A attacks; B jumps/opens/activates; C-up map; C-down uses an item; C-left/right change weapons, or inventory items while holding Z; START menu.
Hexen: Beyond Heretic — About this game
Hexen combines first-person combat with a fortress built around hubs and branching areas. Progress often means visiting several maps, finding an important item and returning to a place you explored earlier. Baratus favors strength and close combat, Daedolon attacks from range with magic, and Parias balances the two. Your class changes weapons and abilities, so approach enemies and exploration with those strengths in mind while collecting artifacts for difficult encounters.
