How to Play Hydro Thunder
Quick start
Press START, highlight the one-player boat icon and press A. Choose an Easy course and boat. Collect boost icons as you race; finish each Easy race in the top three to unlock Medium. Check the controller menu before using the layout below.
Controls
Configuration One: stick or Control Pad steers; A accelerates; B brakes; L, R or Z activates boost while fuel remains. C down selects the high camera, C right the low camera and C up the pilot view. START pauses. Configuration Two changes the accelerator, brake and boost buttons.
Hydro Thunder — About this game
Hydro Thunder turns waterways into racing courses filled with obstacles, alternate routes and boost pickups. Fuel lets a boat’s special engines push it beyond normal speed, so collecting icons and deciding when to spend that fuel matter as much as steering. The opening selection contains three Easy boats and tracks. Strong finishes open the Medium division, followed by the demanding Hard courses. Boat handling changes the way you approach corners and jumps. Split-screen races support up to four players, with an N64 Expansion Pak required for three or four racers.
