Ide Yōsuke no Mahjong Juku — About this game
As a new lodger, you join the mahjong-loving Murakami family and their friends in a competition spanning two years. Family mode also lets you choose free matches, while the characters' speech and gestures give clues to their approach. Ide's help window offers advice on completing a hand, safer discards and promising scoring patterns. A separate replay mode records the 1997 autumn Seta tournament with commentary, and lets you take over a player's seat to try the position yourself. Switching between the full-table view and the animated players links careful tile study with reading reactions.
