How to Play Indy Racing 2000
Quick start
Choose Single Race, select a driver and track with left/right and A, then enter Practice for solo laps. Keep Track Default enabled in Car Setup and use Automatic transmission to reduce the first-session workload. Accelerate with A and brake with B before turns. Once comfortable, choose Race to try the rolling start and surrounding traffic.
Controls
Standard joystick: stick left/right steers, A accelerates and B brakes. With manual transmission, R shifts up and Z or L shifts down. C-up changes view; C-left/right looks back to that side, C-down looks straight back. START pauses. Automatic reverse: hold Z or L and press A.
Indy Racing 2000 — About this game
Indy Racing 2000 combines single races and an IRL championship with a separate Gold Cup progression through midgets, sprints and Formula 2000 cars. Solo Practice lets you learn a circuit and test settings before a rolling-start race. Car setup trades speed against grip through wings, tire pressure and gearing, while track defaults give you a starting point. Race length changes the demands: a short event needs no pit stop, but longer runs bring fuel planning and, when damage is enabled, repairs. Turning damage off removes wear and crash damage, but not the need for fuel.
