How to Play Itoi Shigesato no Bass Tsuri No. 1 Kettei Ban!
Quick start
Choose あたらしくはじめる at the title. Enter a name with A and finish with おわる. Select ビギナー for the beginner lake setting, then choose a fishing-frequency type to enter the village. At a fishable bank, press A to prepare, aim with the stick and press A again to cast.
Controls
On land, the stick walks, R+stick runs, A talks/confirms, B cancels and Z opens the main menu. In fishing, the stick moves the rod and A casts or reels; pull the stick towards you at a bite to set the hook. C-left loosens drag, C-down tightens it. A+R reels fast, A+B slowly. When the landing icon appears, raise the rod and press A repeatedly. START shows help, or pauses after a cast.

Itoi Shigesato no Bass Tsuri No. 1 Kettei Ban! sets bass fishing in a village you can explore. Talk to animal residents for advice, challenge fellow anglers and visit the shop to expand your rod, reel, lure and line choices. The lake setting chosen at the start changes the balance between easy bites and larger fish. On the water, aim a cast with the cursor, work the lure to draw interest and pull the rod back when a bass bites. The fight then becomes a balance between reeling and drag: too much tension risks a broken line. Bring the fish close, raise the rod and complete the landing when its icon appears.
