How to Play Knockout Kings 2000
Quick start
Press START at the title and choose SLUGFEST. Use the stick to select your boxer, press A, choose the computer opponent and then the arena. A confirms and B returns in menus. With a right-handed boxer on default controls, practice B lead-hand punches and A strong-hand punches, then use Z to block instead of constantly trading hits.
Controls
Default, right-handed boxer: stick moves; B punches with the lead hand, A with the strong hand. Z blocks high; Z plus stick left blocks low. Southpaw boxers reverse the A/B functions. When the Punch Meter is full, R+A+B throws the Super-Charged Punch. START pauses.
Knockout Kings 2000 — About this game
Knockout Kings 2000 combines arcade-style Slugfest fights with a career that starts near the bottom of a weight class. Created boxers can enter either route, but their career ability depends on points earned in training rather than the attributes assigned during creation. In the ring, landed punches fill a meter that earns one Super-Charged Punch; throwing it spends the charge whether it connects or misses. Backing off and blocking restores health and power, so defense also prepares the next attack. Career results and effective punching help move a contender toward a title shot.
