How to Play Lego Racers
Quick start
Choose Single Race on the main menu, then an available track and racer. At first, use one of the initial choices and learn the route. Press A as GO appears for a turbo start. During the race, collect a colored brick, strengthen it with white bricks and use Z when it will help.
Controls
Default: stick steers, A accelerates, B brakes; hold B to reverse. Hold A+R while steering to powerslide. Z uses a power-up. Hold C down to look behind, C up changes camera and C right toggles map/speedometer. Options can change buttons. Local Versus needs two controllers.
Lego Racers — About this game
Lego Racers mixes racing with the pleasure of making a driver and car of your own. On the track, colored bricks provide projectiles, hazards, shields or turbo; white Power Plus bricks strengthen the power-up you already hold. That gives each pickup a purpose beyond firing immediately. Corners also reward learning the powerslide, while a well-timed start provides an early burst of speed. Circuit races build a points total over four events. Finishing in the top three overall opens the next circuit, and first place adds new building pieces. Single Race uses unlocked tracks, local two-player Versus removes computer rivals, and Time Race gives you Veronica Voltage’s ghost car to chase.
