Madden NFL 99 — About this game

Madden NFL 99 combines play selection with direct control of the runner, passer and defenders. Traditional games emphasize the full football rules, while Arcade changes the pace with easier playcalling and fewer restrictions. A separate One-Button setup lets a newcomer focus on positioning instead of a large move list. Exhibition offers a single matchup, Practice isolates skills, and Franchise carries team management through multiple seasons. Draft decisions and salary limits extend the challenge beyond the field. During a game, the same button can serve different jobs before the snap, while running or when passing, so learning those contexts is essential.
