How to Play Mario Artist: Paint Studio
Quick start
Original-game starting guide: Press A at the title, choose 2Dペイント and 1人でペイント. Select a pen on the left, pick its width and choose a color from the right-hand palette. Move onto the canvas, hold A and move the stick to draw.
Controls
Original-game controls for reference: Controller: stick moves the cursor; A selects tools and, held with stick movement, draws or applies the selected tool. In painting, B acts as the eyedropper; in other screens it also handles going back. C buttons scroll the canvas. START moves the cursor to でる or EXIT. The original N64 mouse uses left for A and right for B.

Original-game reference: Mario Artist: Paint Studio is a drawing workshop built around experimenting with pictures. Choose a pen, its width and a palette color, then build a picture on the canvas. Included illustrations and photographs provide material to color and combine with your own marks. Beyond 2D painting, flipbook animation turns a sequence of drawings into movement, while the 3D world offers another setting to explore. The original program supports both the N64 controller and its own mouse; the guide below uses controller buttons.
