Quick start
Start a new game and explore Oedo after the opening. Talk to residents with A and try changing between Goemon and Ebisumaru with C down. Follow the story towards Oedo Castle and learn camera adjustment before tackling its jumps and rooms.

Adventure controls: stick moves; A jumps or talks; B attacks or pulls objects; Z crouches/crawls; C down changes character; C left changes weapon; C up uses acquired magic; C right map overlay; hold R with C buttons to adjust camera; START opens status/pause. Impact battles use different controls.
Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon — About this game
A strange theatrical invasion sends Goemon and Ebisumaru out from Oedo on a journey across Japan. Town conversations and shops connect the outdoor routes, while dungeons combine keys, switches, combat and platforming. New companions and abilities open different ways forward, so switching characters has a practical purpose. Giant-robot Impact encounters interrupt the exploration with a separate style of combat. The main adventure rewards observing a room and using the right character rather than treating every obstacle as another enemy.
