How to Play NASCAR 99
Quick start
Press START at the title, select QUICK RACE and press A at the track logo to enter a race. R on the main menu randomizes driver and track. To learn without opponents, choose SINGLE RACE and PRACTICE; return to that weekend for QUALIFY or RACE when ready.
Controls
Default: stick or D-pad steers, A accelerates, B brakes. With manual gears R shifts up, L or Z down. C left toggles HUD, C down changes view and START pauses. Menus use directions, A selects, B returns. In pit service, up/down selects an item and left/right toggles or adjusts it.
NASCAR 99 — About this game
NASCAR 99 gives a race weekend several distinct jobs. Practice lets you learn the track and test a setup without rivals, qualifying prepares your place for the event, and the race puts that work into traffic. Quick Race skips the preparation and uses the current options, while Championship links results across a season. Pit stops add decisions about fuel, tires and adjustments instead of leaving every choice on the racing line. Manual shifting offers another task once steering and braking feel comfortable. The useful first goal is a repeatable lap: learn where the car turns cleanly before changing the setup or committing to a longer points campaign.
