How to Play NBA in the Zone 2000
Quick start
Press START, choose Mode and Exhibition, then select home and away teams with the stick or D-pad and confirm with A. In Set Up and Formation Selection, keep the initial choices and select OK to begin. Pass with A, drive using stick+Z and release B near the top of the jump to shoot. On defense, use R to change players before attempting A steals or B blocks.
Controls
Normal-match defaults: stick moves; A passes, B shoots/jumps and stick+Z drives. Release B near the jump's peak. C-left changes dribble, C-down protects the ball and stick+C-right spins. R switches players. Defense: A steals/intercepts, B blocks/rebounds. START pauses.
NBA in the Zone 2000 — About this game
NBA in the Zone 2000 pairs team basketball with separate contests for outside shooting and dunk technique. In regular games, passing, dribble changes, spins and ball-protection moves help work toward a shot, with release timing affecting success. Exhibition and All-Star provide standalone team games, while Season and configurable Playoffs carry a team toward the championship. Team setup handles starters, trades and free agents, and Player Edit lets you build an athlete's style and abilities. The three-point and dunk events use their own rules and controls, offering a different challenge from winning a normal game.
