How to Play NBA In The Zone '98
Quick start
Press START, choose Mode and then Exhibition. Use up/down to choose the two teams, left/right to select your side and A to confirm. Leave the initial lineup for your first game and choose OK in Set Up. On offense, pass with A; press B to jump and release B to shoot. Begin near the basket, then learn C-right switching when defending.
Controls
Default: stick moves; A passes and B jumps, releasing B shoots. Stick+Z runs and stick+C-down drives. C-right switches to the player nearest the ball; stick+C-right selects toward a teammate. On defense, A steals/intercepts and B blocks. START pauses.

NBA In The Zone '98 links team basketball with starting-lineup decisions and trades. Exhibition sets up one matchup, while Season leads through a regular schedule into the playoffs; a separate playoff setup lets you choose teams and series length. On the court, passing, pivots, pass fakes and power dribbling with your back to the basket offer different ways to build an attack. Shooting separates the jump from the release, and rebounds require their own timing. Team setup lets you change starters, review player information and exchange players between clubs before taking those decisions onto the floor.
