How to Play NFL Blitz 2001
Quick start
Choose ARCADE, then PLAY with A. Assign controllers to your side, confirm with A, choose a team and confirm again. Pick a play and snap with A or B. Behind the line, face a receiver and press A to pass, or use C-left/C-up/C-right for the original left/center/right receiver. Start with short passes and watch the turbo meter.
Controls
Stick/D-pad moves; Z uses turbo. Before the snap A or B hikes the ball. Behind the line, direction+A passes; C-left/up/right targets the original left/center/right receiver even after crossing routes. B hurdles, double Z spins. On defense A changes player, B dive-tackles or contests an airborne ball. START pauses; menu A confirms/B returns.

NFL Blitz 2001 turns American football into fast runs, leaping passes and forceful tackles. Up to four players split into two per team; on offense one controls the quarterback while the other runs freely as a receiver. C-button passing keeps each button tied to the receiver's starting position even when routes cross. Good streaks trigger On Fire for extra speed and power. Arcade offers a quick match, while Season and Tournament extend the contest. Party Games isolate three skills: score from increasingly distant starting points, defend the goal line, or complete timed throws to highlighted receivers.
