How to Play Paper Mario
Quick start
Create a file and name it, then follow Luigi to Peach’s castle. After the opening events, explore Goomba Village and speak to its residents; follow the early lessons to obtain the hammer and learn combat.
Controls
Stick: walk/run or select; A: jump, interact or confirm; B: hammer after obtaining it, or cancel; Z: spin; C-down: partner ability; C-right: change partner; START: information and badges. Follow each battle’s action-command prompt.
Paper Mario — About this game
Bowser has taken the Star Rod and captured the Star Spirits. Mario sets out to free them, meeting partners whose abilities solve obstacles as well as support him in battle. Jump and hammer attacks have different targets, while badges customise his options. Once action commands become available, well-timed input strengthens attacks or defence, making each turn a choice of both strategy and execution.
