How to Play Pilotwings 64
Quick start
Choose Game Start and a New file, then a vehicle’s Beginner Class and pilot. Read the test, Control and Hint entries and view its map. Begin with the hang glider, practise pitch and turns, then use A to flare and extend your legs for landing. Learn the other craft separately.
Controls
Stick steers/tilts the selected craft. Hang glider: A/B flare; hold Z to aim a photo, release to take it. Rocket belt: A strong thrust, B weak thrust, Z air brake/hover. Gyrocopter: A increases/B decreases throttle; hold Z for scope, release to fire missile. R changes view; START flight menu.
Pilotwings 64 — About this game
Pilotwings 64 turns flying into scored tests with routes, targets and landings. The hang glider trades speed for height and uses thermals to climb. The rocket belt responds to inertia and wind, making short thrusts and braking useful. The gyrocopter flies like a small plane and cannot hover. Each test explains its goals and scoring before takeoff; Beginner also provides demonstration flights. Repeating tests improves badge results and opens further challenges, while the flight map helps you plan rather than simply follow the horizon.
