How to Play Pokémon Stadium
Quick start
Choose Battle Now! for a quick match with provided Pokémon, or enter Stadium and select a cup. Use rental Pokémon to build a legal team, then choose the three combatants and inspect their moves before attacking.
Controls
D-pad: navigate; A: confirm and select Battle; B: cancel in menus or choose a Pokémon switch in battle; C buttons: choose a move after Battle; R: display available moves; L: return from move selection. Minigames show their own controls.
Pokémon Stadium — About this game
Pokémon Stadium brings turn-based battles to a 3D arena. You prepare a team of six, then choose the fighters required by each competition, balancing types and move coverage against the opponent. Rental Pokémon let you enter without a Game Boy cartridge. Cups impose different entry rules, Gym Leader Castle offers a sequence of trainer challenges, and Kids Club turns familiar Pokémon into minigame competitors.
