How to Play Puyo Puyoon Party
Quick start
Press START, choose ひとりでぷよぷよ and then れんしゅう for the three-stage practice route. Move pairs into groups of four and watch what falls after a clear. Once comfortable, try free battles to learn a character's power without confusing it with ordinary rotation.
Controls
Use the D-pad to select menu items and move Puyo. A confirms and rotates; B cancels and rotates. A C button activates a character power when a use is available. START starts or pauses. Rotation and power assignments can be changed in Options; the stick, Z, L and R are unused.
Puyo Puyoon Party — About this game
Puyo Puyoon Party adds character powers to the familiar task of connecting four matching Puyo. Clearing one group lets others fall into place, creating chains that send nuisance Puyo to an opponent; an incoming attack can also be offset with a clear of your own. Powers have limited uses indicated on screen, so choosing when to spend one matters. Story play, practice and free battles offer different routes in, while stage rules alter how a match develops. Endless play also offers different Puyo sizes, changing the space available for building chains.
