Quick start
Select NEW GAME, look around the cell and speak to the prisoner nearby. When the meal arrives, keep the bone and inspect the damp straw bed. Use the bone from inventory on the grate you uncover. Save through START before risky experiments.

Booklet layout: stick looks/turns; C buttons move and sidestep; A examines/talks; B opens items/books, C-left/right switch those lists and A uses the selection; Z crouches; R map; START options/save. B closes menus or cancels.

Del Cottonwood survives a caravan raid only to become a prisoner beneath Castle Shadowgate. This first-person fantasy adventure asks you to solve the castle’s puzzles through observation, conversation and inventory items. Center an object in view to examine it, read the books you find and check the map for explored rooms. Small details can reveal a route, while a careless decision can be fatal. The first escape already shows the approach: an everyday object becomes a tool for opening the way out.
