How to Play Sin and Punishment

Quick start

Choose Training first and use the original N64 left-position D-pad/L layout described here: stick aims, D-pad left/right moves, L jumps and Z attacks. Practise aiming while moving, tap L again in the air to double jump and double-tap a direction to roll. Then choose an easy game from the main menu.

Controls

Original N64 left-position D-pad/L layout: the stick moves the aiming cursor and D-pad left/right moves the character. Double-tap the same D-pad direction to roll. L jumps; press it again in the air to double jump. Z fires and performs close-range sword attacks. A switches manual/lock-on targeting. START begins and opens the pause menu.

Sin and Punishment — About this game

Advance through stages while moving your character sideways and aiming the gun separately. Manual targeting gives stronger shots, while lock-on makes aiming easier at reduced power. Roll through danger, double jump over obstacles and use close-range slashes or a well-timed counterattack against incoming fire. Defeat the boss to clear each area. Time matters: when the clock runs out, life begins to drain. Health, time and score items reward careful play, and every hundred defeated enemies grants another continue credit. Training introduces the controls before a full run.
