How to Play Star Wars Episode I: Racer
Quick start
Choose Tournament, create a save and select an available racer. Begin the Amateur circuit on the Boonta Training Course. Learn the route with controlled acceleration and early braking; if an engine is damaged, hold R to repair and allow for the resulting loss of speed.
Controls
Original N64 single-controller controls: stick steers; A accelerates; B brakes; Z slides the podracer for cornering; hold R to repair; START pauses. Repairs slow the racer, so use a safe stretch of track.
Star Wars Episode I: Racer — About this game
Episode I: Racer turns the film’s podracing contest into a racing campaign across varied worlds. Two engines pull each racer through bends, narrow passages and hazardous terrain. Tournament progress opens tracks and racers, while prize money buys parts that change your machine’s performance. Collisions damage the engines, and repairs during a race cost speed, making a clean line valuable even when you have room to accelerate. Free Race and Time Attack offer other ways to revisit unlocked courses without replacing Tournament’s upgrade progression.
