How to Play Top Gear Overdrive
Quick start
Choose Championship, select one player and an available car, then choose automatic transmission for the first race. Confirm the car and colour with A and continue through Track Select. Learn the three-lap course and aim for the top four before spending your winnings on upgrades.
Controls
Default: stick steers, A gas, B brake, Z nitrous, R rear view, C down camera, START pause. In manual, C left shifts up while A is held and down when gas is released. When stopped, stick down+A selects reverse; stop and use stick up+A for forward. Setup > Controller Config changes the layout.
Top Gear Overdrive — About this game
Top Gear Overdrive builds its racing around seasons, prize money and cars that improve with your progress. Championship races last three laps and require a top-four finish to qualify for the next event. Cash can buy upgrades, stronger cars and extra nitrous, while pickups and concealed roads offer opportunities during the race itself. Up to four local players can share the competition; a solo driver faces eleven computer cars. Versus provides a shorter one-, three- or five-lap race using unlocked cars and tracks. Automatic transmission simplifies a first outing, while the manual layout uses a single shift button whose direction depends on whether you are applying gas.
