How to Play 40 Winks

Quick start

Getting started — N64 project reference Begin with Ruff or Tumble and use the bedroom-area tutorial to practise movement. Try A for a jump, B for a blow and Z for the scream, then adjust the camera with C left/right before crossing a gap. Explore nearby paths and collect the objects needed to reach a Wink.

Controls

Controls — N64 project reference Directional input moves. A jumps or swims; B attacks or dives; Z uses the scream or a special attack. C left/right changes the camera and START pauses/shows status. In the separate Wiki Wiki race, A accelerates and B brakes. Keep race controls separate from ordinary exploration.

40 Winks — About this game

N64 aftermarket edition.

N64 project gameplay reference The adventure sends Ruff or Tumble into dream worlds to rescue the small creatures called Winks. Progress combines platform jumps, fights and searching for useful objects, with transformations changing the actions available in a challenge. Adjusting the camera and your position helps you judge a landing or line up an enemy. Swimming and diving add another layer in watery areas, while a scream provides a special attack beyond ordinary blows. Learn the basic movements near the bedroom before heading deeper into the dream settings, and look around carefully rather than following only the most obvious platform route.
