How to Play Sydney 2000

Quick start

Project starting guide: Check the controller layout in Options, then choose Arcade and one event. Read that event's power and action instructions before starting. Learn a steady power-building rhythm and the moment for its action; try another event only after you understand what each button pair does in the first.

Controls

Project control reference: With the default layout, C-down and C-right are the power buttons; A and B are the action buttons. Their exact jobs depend on the event, so follow its instructions for timing and action choice. Options offers alternative layouts; check your selected setup before practising.

Sydney 2000 — About this game

Project gameplay reference: Sydney 2000 brings twelve Olympic events to a preserved N64 prototype. Its rhythm comes from building power with one pair of buttons and timing the event's action with another, so reading the instructions matters more than treating every event as a race to mash faster. Arcade lets you try individual events with up to four players, while Olympic mode links competition to athlete development through training mini-games. Start with a single event to learn its rhythm, then compare how the same power and action roles change from one discipline to the next.
