How to Play Viewpoint 2064

Quick start

Open Options, choose Normal difficulty and review the control layout. Start the opening stage and practice movement and ordinary fire before using lock-on against a group. Bring the side shields forward when shots approach, absorb them to fill energy and use the wave cannon once charged.

Controls

Use the selected layout's movement, normal-fire and lock-on actions. The orbiting options can move forward as shields: they absorb shots but prevent normal firing in that position. A full energy meter enables the wave cannon. Check the current button layout in Options.

Viewpoint 2064 — About this game

A space soldier follows a mysterious voice while fighting insect invaders and recovering lost memories. This N64 prototype combines forward-moving shooting with branching stages and orbiting powerups. Lock-on attacks mark several targets, while the side options add firepower and protection. Move those shields forward to absorb incoming shots, sacrificing normal fire while charging the energy meter for the wave cannon. Options let you choose difficulty, lives and a control layout. Some route branches and endings remain unfinished, so the opening stage is the best place to learn the attack and defense cycle.
