How to Play Wildwaters
Quick start
Project starting guide: Choose one of the three available kayakers and start the first river course. Use its opening stretch to practise paddling and steering before approaching bends. Look ahead, turn early and regain a clear line if you drift toward a bank. The other listed course is not part of the playable prototype route.
Controls
Project control reference: Paddle to move along the river and steer to change the kayak's heading. Make small corrections on open water, then line up before a bend instead of turning only when you reach the bank. After contact with the shore, point the boat back toward open water and resume your route.
Wildwaters — About this game
Project gameplay reference: Wildwaters is an early N64 kayak-racing prototype built around the motion of a small boat on fast water. Three kayakers are selectable, but only the first river course is playable, keeping the experience focused on learning the water and planning a line through bends. Watch where the kayak is pointing, leave room to turn and recover your heading after drifting toward a bank. The scenery and water behavior remain unfinished, so this is a compact development demonstration rather than the full set of modes and courses intended for the finished game.
