How to Play Vigilante 8
Quick start
Choose One Player, then Arcade, an arena, a vehicle and opponents. Confirm with A. Practise A acceleration, B handbrake turns and Z machine-gun fire; use C down to select a target and R for the selected weapon before trying Quest objectives.
Controls
Default: stick left/right steers; A accelerates; B handbrakes; stick down+B reverses. Z machine gun; C left/right cycles weapons; C down selects targets; R fires selected weapon; C up rear view; L first-person view; START pauses. Options allows different layouts.
Vigilante 8 — About this game
Vigilante 8 combines driving with weapon combat in open arenas. Quest gives each character four stages that require both the mission objective and the destruction of enemy vehicles. Arcade lets you choose an arena and opponents, while Survival tests how long you can withstand repeated attackers. The machine gun and selected weapon use separate triggers, and handbrake turns help keep targets in view. Managing position and checking the objective are as important as staying on the attack.
