How to Play Virtual Pro Wrestling 64

Quick start

Choose a one-on-one bout, select the wrestlers and keep pins enabled in the match rules. Move with the D-pad, try a tapped B strike and then a tapped A grapple. After gaining the hold, use a direction with A or B to try a move. Beside a downed opponent, C-down attempts the pin.

Controls

D-pad moves. Tap/hold A for weak/strong grapples and B for weak/strong strikes. C-down runs while standing and pins near a downed opponent. L dodges, R blocks, C-right changes focus. C-up handles ring entry/exit and tag situations. The stick taunts; with SPECIAL active in a grapple it triggers a finisher. These are the documented standard match controls.

Virtual Pro Wrestling 64 — About this game

Virtual Pro Wrestling 64 makes the length of a button press part of the match. Tap or hold A for different grapple strengths, then choose a move once the hold connects; B likewise separates light and strong strikes. The D-pad handles movement while the stick serves taunts and special actions, so their roles are distinct. Pre-match rules let you adjust pins, submissions, rope breaks and count-outs. Tag matches also offer standard or tornado formats. Grounded and standing opponents change what buttons do, making the transition from attack to a pin as important as the approach.
