How to Play Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey
Quick start
At the title/main menu choose PLAY GAME and continue through pre-game setup and team selection. Use direction controls and A for selections, B to go back. Start with Arcade to learn the basic pace, then try Simulation for rules. In local multiplayer, players 1/2 share a team and 3/4 share the other.
Controls
Default offense: A or Z shoots, B passes, C down uses turbo, A+B makes a one-timer, A+C down a power shot. R switches player. On defense, A kneels, B steals, C left checks and C down uses turbo. START opens the timeout menu. Button functions and rules can be changed in setup.

Wayne Gretzky’s 3D Hockey offers two ways to approach the rink. Arcade is a three-on-three contest without penalties, encouraging quick passes, turbo runs and forceful challenges. Simulation enforces rules and lets you change team size and penalty options. A single match supports four human players, paired as players one and two against three and four. Season play is instead one player against the computer, with shorter schedules, a full season or playoffs. On the ice, passing into a one-timer and choosing when to spend turbo creates scoring chances, while the defense must balance puck steals with physical pressure.
