How to Play Wipeout 64
Quick start
Original-game starting guide: Press START past the opening screens and choose Time Trial. Select the slower Vector class, then an available craft and track, using directions and A to confirm. Learn the bends without other racers, use the ghost to compare laps and try the left and right airbrakes separately before entering Single Race.
Controls
Original-game controls for reference: Stick left/right steers and up/down adjusts the nose; the D-pad only navigates menus. A accelerates, B fires a weapon, Z is the left airbrake and R the right. C up changes view, C down discards a weapon and START pauses. Menus use directions and A; B returns.
Wipeout 64 — About this game
Unfinished Beta build (EU).
Original-game reference: Wipeout 64 makes steering a fast anti-gravity craft the heart of its racing. The stick handles direction and nose attitude, while separate left and right airbrakes give another way to manage corners. Speed classes let you learn at Vector pace before attempting faster competition. Single Race mixes positions with weapons, with an option to remove them. Time Trial clears the track for a best-lap ghost and keeps running until you quit; each lap supplies a turbo, but you cannot stockpile several. Challenge adds specific targets to pursue, and local multiplayer supports up to four pilots. Learning a clean line before moving to a faster class helps keep the speed useful through the whole course.
