How to Play World Cup 98
Quick start
Choose WORLD CUP on Match Select. Press A once on a team for human control or twice for CPU, then use START to continue through groupings and fixtures. Set half length, choose your side on Controller Select and press START to begin. Pass with A and shoot with B before experimenting with lobs and through balls.
Controls
Stick moves; A passes, B shoots and C-right makes a through pass. C-down lobs on offense; hold it to build power. Defensively A changes player, B attempts a conservative tackle and C-down slides aggressively. Tap C-left to sprint; START pauses. Menus use the D-pad, A to select and START to advance.

Wins and draws earn group points, while tied elimination games continue through extra time and penalties if needed. Team Management lets you change lineups, formations and tactics instead of relying on sprinting alone. Win the World Cup to open Classics and revisit historical final matchups. On the pitch, ground passes, lobs, through balls and timed shooting give different ways to break down a defense.
